Both of those are healing! I miss the mountains and sitting by a small flow of water like Boulder creek.! My daughters went out there to visit and enjoy the places my brothers and I grew up with! I may post a video if I can of a small video my daughter sent me of their experience by the creek! So soothing and beautiful, and healing sounding.
That was a lovely, peaceful piece to read, Susan, and the photo added to it. :)
I have many places I go to feel God's peace.. country walks, the beach.. mostly walks in nature, but I am enjoying my back garden now as we getting nice weather here.
A place of healing. I want to say it is where I am surrounded by nature, by music, by quietness, by kindness. All of that is true but I then, I want to say that whenever I am filled by God’s loving spirit and presence inside my heart and mind, I am at a place of healing.❤️🩹
Beautiful! When I traveled to NIH regularly I would sit in the beauty of their gardens. The Lord is so good to give us Psalm 23 places to restore and refresh with Him.
Oh, I am thankful God provides us places of healing and respite. Thankful you found lovely gardens at NIH. Hope health is going okay for you these days, Eve. I too appreciate His kindness in giving us Psalm 23 places of renewal.
For me, healing comes in solitude with God, wherever that would be.
As a young boy, I would rise in the morning before everyone else and sit in the front room of the house at a window that faced an open field. It was peaceful and quiet, and a chance to think and pray.
I especially remember the trips we would take to the lake in the summer, because my early morning retreat would be in front of the lake or on the dock!
As a pilot, the cockpit on long flights could also be a place of solitude and healing, even though I shared the space with another pilot. Night flights were particularly peaceful!
Later, when I traveled internationally for work, the long flights, even on a crowded airplane were a sacred space of sorts, where I could read and pray without interruption.
I especially enjoyed exploring other cities and would take long walks after work or on a weekend; I would bring lunch and books and my Bible and find a corner of a city park to sit and read and find healing!
Loved your reference to Psalm 84; God is so gracious to us!
I especially like this passage:
“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. As they go through the Valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion.”
Psalm 84:5-7 ESV
Thirsty pilgrims are blessed and “healed” by the early rain, but also come with their own Spirit of refreshment, so these times of healing are both a giving and a receiving!
I really loved hearing about your times with the Lord in various places and situations. I am out watching my dog run at a field so may say more later. But thank you for a beautiful response.
Thank you, Bob!! I really like this MS doctor…and it’s been wonderful to find a neurologist just 15 minutes from home rather than a long drive away. She was helpful, and I always like her efficiency. No big news is good news.
My horse is my healing place, and of course, Colorado mountains. :-)
I miss you, Alice!!
I miss you too. I'm glad I get glimpses of you here though. Keep writing!
Thanks, Alice. Appreciate you and love imagining you enjoying your family, horses and the beauty surrounding you.
Yes! Your wonderful horses and the majestic Rocky Mountains…

That’s beautiful, Yi Xue. Thanks for telling us about what makes a place healing to you.
Amen and amen! 🙏🏻 your pictures and descriptions made me feel like I was sitting there with you! Basking in the sun and in God’s presence with us!
So thankful, Jules. Appreciate you. God is so kind to us.
