Thank you, Sue, for putting into words such powerful reminders of how deep and wide God’s love is for us.
Thank you also for sharing your photos of His beautiful creation with us. Now I realize, more fully, what you meant when you said that the sunrise was glorious that morning. 🥰
Lovely! I noticed you mentioned Mike Erre? I went to Rock Harbor in Costa Mesa many years ago. Also I will always love Madeleine L’Engle. I need to read more Henri Nouwen! Thanks for sharing!
I write (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, etc.) because it's one of the spaces in which I feel God's presence most clearly and strongly; it's been that way for many years. My journaling practice is simply to have a dialogue with God--I write out whatever questions I have or ideas I want to develop and then write the prompt: "God responds:" Then I write more. I've been joyfully surprised at what comes through that open door. Even though I'm moving my hand with pencil, pen, or stylus, I know that I enter a space where I'm listening more than thinking. It's often how I'll write a story or even a post for my Substack newsletter. When I was still at Microsoft I'd even use that to work through various technical questions because not only did I often find answers but got to enjoy a little time of inner communion as well.
I love this, Kiran. When we listen, God often speaks to our hearts. I loved my work in the counseling field and now in coaching, too. We listen to God together.
Beautiful pictures and words! Nothing thrills me like the rising and the setting of the sun…reminds me of the song with those lyrics-The Lord’s name it to be praised!
What a beautiful reflection, Sue. Your words truly capture the grace and beauty of God’s creation, and it’s so refreshing to hear how you find His presence in both the sunrise and sunset. We have beautiful sunrises and sunsets here in Kansas too, and I often find myself doing the same. It’s such a sweet reminder that, no matter what we face, God’s majesty is all around us, in every moment of the day.
I don’t consider myself a writer, but I journal. It’s been so therapeutic for me, and it’s how I started this whole journey a decade ago. Things have changed so much since then, and the learning curve has been real, but God’s been so faithful in it. I write to help process my emotions and connect with the Father on a deeper level.
Your thoughts on writing as a tool for growth are powerful. Journaling really does create space to reflect, and I’m so thankful for the space you’ve made here for us to share and grow together. Thank you for the inspiration and for reminding us how sacred the present moment is. 🌻
There is indeed power in stories. I write every day 500 words in the morning as part of my daily routine. I also do a gratitude practice, much like you are doing here, Susan. And I'd highly recommend both!

You’re so welcome. Yes, God is such a creative artist! Appreciate you, Kathi!!

Glad you enjoyed this, Janet! I haven’t met Mike Erre but would like to hear or read more of his teaching.

Yes, I love that song, too. I agree…and thank God for creating such wonder and beauty.
Your photos proclaim God's glory. Thank you for sharing them with your readers.
My pleasure.
